Great News from the Statehouse – A Big Win for Group II

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The New Hampshire Group II Retirement Coalition is pleased to share significant progress in the ongoing effort to restore fairness and dignity to the retirement benefits of the state’s law enforcement, corrections officers, and other first responders.

Today, members of the Coalition were honored to meet with Governor Kelly Ayotte and express appreciation for her continued commitment to supporting New Hampshire’s public safety professionals. Governor Ayotte’s steadfast leadership and public support mean a great deal to the thousands of men and women who have dedicated their careers to protecting our communities.

In a major legislative win, the New Hampshire House Finance Committee unanimously passed HB2 without any cuts to the Group II retirement appropriation. This critical vote keeps funding intact for retirement reform efforts and marks a substantial victory for our members.

“This is a significant step forward,” said Seifu Ragassa, President of the NH Group II Retirement Coalition. “We are grateful to the legislators who continue to stand with us, and to every member who has called, written, and shown up to advocate for what is right. While there is still work to be done, today we celebrate meaningful progress.”

The NH Group II Retirement Coalition will continue its work to ensure that the promises made to New Hampshire’s law enforcement and first responders are honored.
